Luján possesses a rich and diverse history, playing a significant role in national events, such as the British Invasions. History tells us that in 1536, the Spanish Captain Pedro de Luján lost his life on the banks of the river that would later bear his name. The Spanish conquerors fought a battle there against the brave Querandí indigenous people. Later, it was Faith that truly founded Luján. The miracle of the Virgin Mary began to bring people together, marking the beginning of the "Marian City of Luján."

Among the activities available in Luján are visits to the National Basilica of Our Lady of Luján, the Enrique Udaondo Museum Complex, the Cabildo of Luján, the Viceroy's House, and the Transport Museum.
